Poject Details
Originally designed by Roland Terry, this project evolved into a complete remodeling and expansion. Starting at the walkway, the house is revealed as a series of layered spaces with intermittent places of rest; people and water share a path through the site. In plan, the house is designed as two, two-story masses separated by a low, transparent connecting pavilion. The pavilion physically and visually unites the courtyard to the lakeside terrace and to the lake through large sliding glass panels. The terraces, extensive glazing, external columns and trellises extend the architecture into the landscape.
