Poject Details
Situated in a forest, this breakfast-room addition was inspired by the memory of a glassed-in porch in the client’s childhood home. The addition takes the form of a box that is pulled away from the main house to float over the adjacent ravine. The simple plan and spare architectural detailing in the interior reinforce the importance of the furnishings, which include furniture from the client’s family home. Atop the room is a fin-shaped, copper-clad sun scoop designed to bring morning sun to the west-facing room.
