Poject Details
This Carl Gould-designed, Art Moderne gem was in need of updating. The goal of the renovation was to make the art and the building work better together—to create a harmony of architecture and artifact—and to meet current curatorial standards. Gallery casework was redesigned and pylons were introduced into the Garden Court to integrate large-scale art into the fabric of the building, and create a transitional connection between the high Deco style of the entrance hall and the museum’s network of more intimately scaled and relatively unadorned galleries.
